Vancouver Demonstrates its Patriotism with Successful U.S. Flag Exchange Offered by Davidson & Associates Insurance
Flag Retirement Continues but Limited Supply of New Flags Are Available
Vancouver, WA (6/10/2016) In celebration of Flag Day, Davidson & Associates Insurance continues to collect old American flags in need of retirement. However, only a limited number of new flags are now available for distribution.
“Vancouver has again demonstrated its strong commitment to patriotism by picking up new flags offered by our firm,” said Bruce Davidson, President of Davidson & Associates Insurance. “To date we have given nearly 250 new flags to community members and collected dozens of older flags in need of replacement. The program has been wildly successful.”
The firm will continue to accept older flags but has a limited supply of new flags available. Fort Vancouver District Boy Scouts of America will perform proper flag retirement ceremonies for all old flags. Flags should be removed from poles and dried if wet.
Old flags may be dropped off at the Davidson office, 610 Esther Street, Suite 101 in downtown Vancouver, Monday through Friday, June 13-17, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To determine availability of a new flag, call 514-9550.
Davidson & Associates Insurance Representing PEMCO Insurance is the presenting sponsor of the Fort Vancouver National Trust’s 22nd annual Flag Day at Fort Vancouver. The ceremony will be held Tuesday, June 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the historic bandstand across from Grant House, 1101 Officers Row, on the Fort Vancouver National Site. The Fort Vancouver National Trust will provide an opportunity for Brownie Girl Scouts to earn their Celebrating Community Badge with activities on the site from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
